She works with children and families every day in Wake County. She volunteers with “The Child’s Advocate,” a project of Legal Aid, representing children in high conflict custody cases. Evonne is the recipient of Legal Aid’s 2023 Pro Bono Hero Award. 

As a resident and business owner, Evonne has watched Wake County’s evolution and growth.

 

Evonne is a North Carolina Board Certified Family Law Specialist and Certified Parent Coordinator licensed to practice in North Carolina, California, and the District of Columbia. Evonne earned joint JD/MBA degrees from the University of San Francisco in 2003 and a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Philosophy from Rollins College in 1998.

Evonne S. Hopkins is no stranger to hard work and perseverance. Having watched her parents achieve the American dream, Evonne grew up in small business and entrepreneurship. She believes with hard work and dedication, anything is possible. Raised with a strong moral compass and work ethic, Evonne is true to her word and respectful of others. 

 

Evonne successfully operates and owns the Raleigh Law Center in North Raleigh practicing family law. Evonne lives in North Raleigh with her husband, Joe Hopkins, and their two children.

  • Access to healthcare is a fundamental right. With the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, we must protect access to healthcare and women’s reproductive freedom. Evonne will work tirelessly to restore women’s reproductive rights and end abortion bans.

  • As an avid hiker, swimmer, kayaker and boater, Evonne supports our parks and waterways and will advocate for clean air and water as well as developing public transit systems and investments in renewable energy.

  • All North Carolinians deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Evonne will fight for voting rights and fight against gerrymandering to ensure that all North Carolinians are properly represented and have a voice.

  • As a small business owner, Evonne knows the challenges our community faces with increased costs such as property taxes, labor, and expenses. We need leaders who will prioritize small businesses and continue to invest in our future. 

  • Our kids need a strong public school system that educates and protects them. All children should have access to the tools for opportunity and success. We need to support our teachers and fund education including school counselors and nurses.

  • Every North Carolinian deserves to feel safe in their home, neighborhood, work, and school. Evonne will fight to ensure that our law enforcement and first responders have the resources, education, training, and support that they need.
